Teachers Building Society scored a hat trick at the What Mortgage Awards on Wednesday August 14 by scooping the ‘Best
Local Building Society’ title for the third consecutive year.
The Dorset-based mutual’s chief executive James Bawa collected the coveted trophy at a gala event at London’s Minster Exchange which marked the 20th anniversary of the UK’s leading mortgage awards.
James said, “Winning this award again is fantastic, particularly as it is the result of nominations from our local customers. The whole team at Teachers has been working hard to offer a truly personal service and to raise our profile as an alternative to the big banks for the people of Dorset, so we’re all over the moon with the accolade. I would like to thank all of our local customers for their support and express our gratitude to those who took the time to nominate us.”
What Mortgage magazine’s sales manager Stuart Smith said, “For a third consecutive year, Teachers Building Society has won the award for Best Local Building Society.
