Lewis-Manning Hospice celebrated the opening of its ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ Art Exhibition on Saturday with a visit from Cllr Philip Eades, The Mayor of Poole, and his wife.
Lewis-Manning Hospice, which supports over 650 local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, organised the exhibition at The Gallery Upstairs at Upton Country House and it features paintings and sculptors from a number of local artists.
The exhibition has the theme of ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’, celebrating anything to do with breath, life, air, flow and movement. Inspired by the fresh sea air, the exhibition is to encapsulate the work of Lewis-Manning to breathe easy, live well and love life.
Organisers Sarah Kelly and Margaret Hasted said, “We had an excellent response from artists and were really delighted that we managed to hang all the paintings submitted. The exhibition looks looking really good and the standard is very high, with some exhibits already sold.”
We hope we can encourage people to come and have a look, especially as parking is free, there is a lovely coffee shop downstairs and if it’s not raining, you can have a look around the lovely gardens, too.”
The exhibition runs until January 28, opening 10.30am – 3pm daily, and entry is by donation.
