The New Forest will play host to the 2014 Ringwood Rabbit Run charity race, split into two races of 10km and 5km. This is an event for both the keen runner and those that just want to give it a try, and takes place on 16 March starting and finishing at the Red Shoot Camping Park, Linwood at 10.30am.
This charity event is organised by 1st Poulner Scout Group and is its largest regular fundraiser. The 5K course is suitable for both adults and children with many families taking part, both running and walking. There is also a more challenging 10k course for the more experienced runners.
The courses are largely on established forest tracks with a small amount of road running on well-marshalled routes.
There are prizes for every category and all entrants will be rewarded with goodies and a medal. technical running tops, available in a wide range of colours and sizes, with the distinctive Rabbit Run logo can be pre-ordered through the website.
Proceeds from this race will be funding the purchase of a climbing wall to furnish the newly built Multi-Activity Centre, where Ringwood and its surrounding communities will be able to enjoy a range of activities such as indoor climbing, archery and rifle target shooting.
