People in Highcliffe are being asked to give their views on the shopping centre in the village and how it could be improved.
The Highcliffe Centre Partnership has drafted a survey which is being distributed to Highcliffe residents, with the help of Christchurch Borough Council.
The survey, which is going to households along with the council’s Courier magazine, hopes to find out how often local residents patronise shops in the village centre, which shops they visit and how they travel.
It also asks for any improvements which they could suggest and also which new types of shops they would like to see.
Malcolm Mawbey from the Highcliffe Centre Partnership said: “Our Partnership was formed in March with the aim of working together to improve the Lymington Road Shopping centre for residents and tourists alike. Its membership is gradually expanding and includes local borough and county councillors as well as a number of local organisations. We want as many people as possible to let us know their views on shopping locally in order to meet our aims.”
Cllr Claire Bath, portfolio holder for Economy at Christchurch Council, said: “This is a great initiative by the Highcliffe Centre Partnership to find out what local people want from their shopping centre. We were happy to fund the printing and distribution of the survey and will be interested to hear the findings and what the Partnership decides it can do to improve the shopping experience in Highcliffe.”
