A ferocious leopard takes pride of place at Heatherlands Community Centre following EDDC’s (East Dorset District Council’s) Summer Art Week and Graffiti Project for children under 16. Every day, over a hundred participants enjoyed a range of art projects and fun activities including graffiti-ing the back wall of the centre. In commemoration of World War 1, it now has a poignant image of a soldier standing at the grave of a fellow tommy.
Manager of the centre John Hanrahan said, “The week was funded by National Lottery, EDDC, Zone 8 Panel, Ferndown Town Council, Synergy Housing, PACT, Sting in Tail & Heatherlands Centre and a big thank you goes to Tracy Cooper (EDDC) as well as to the many local volunteers who came along and helped out along with support from our Community Police PC Julian Humphries and PCSO Sarah Rose.”
I forgot to mention our Fantastic Artist Peter Sheridan and Thank you to Sue Blundell from Sainsburys in Ferndown for her support. A great two weeks had been had by all who were there.
