Poole-based telecommunications firm VoIP Unlimited will be sponsoring the free Social Wi-Fi next week for Bournemouth Air Show visitors.
Now in its seventh year, the Bournemouth Air Festival has welcomed more than 5.8million people to the area since 2008. Network points are being powered up between key landmarks along Bournemouth and Boscombe piers to provide free wireless internet access to the general public during the Air Festival, with a concurrent user capacity of 8000 devices.
The installation of Ultra Fast Gigabit WiFi will ensure Air Festival visitors have constant access to the official website programme and live TV stream, which includes performances from a 95 year old ‘wing walker’ and the beloved Red Arrows. As a result, visitors on social media will find it easier to upload photos, send tweets, and post status updates.
Mark Pillow, Managing Director at VoIP Unlimited said: “At VoIP Unlimited we are huge fans of the Bournemouth Air Festival and are delighted we have been invited to sponsor the Social Wi-Fi for the show this year.
“One of the best things about the Air Festival is that it brings huge numbers of people together for four days of unique and entertaining action. We are looking forward to helping visitors share this year’s experience with those at home and across the web.”
The installation will mean wireless access to the internet will also be available for use in future local events over the next ten years. Experienced in corporate and public events, VoIP Unlimited has shown its support at events previous to this including the British Golf Open and supporting Caterham Formula 1 Teams across various locations.
