YELLOW Buses will be observing a two-minute silence on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day as a mark of respect for Britain’s war heroes.
Drivers who are on the road on Sunday November 9 and Tuesday November 11 have been asked to stop their buses at the nearest request stop – or safe parking area – at 11am for the silent tribute.
As in previous years Yellow Buses is also displaying poppies on its 137-strong bus fleet.
Andrew Smith, Managing Director, said: “We are proud to show our support for these annual acts of remembrance in recognition of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.”
Mr Smith was joined by ex-paratrooper Kevin Conroy, Standard Bearer of the Winton and Moordown Royal British Legion, at the company’s Bournemouth headquarters for a short ceremony marking this year’s appeal.
