Residents and team members at a Dorset dementia care home had an early taste of Yuletide cheer when they attended a production of Irving Berlin’s classic musical White Christmas.
The ten-strong group, from Colten Care’s Fernhill home in Longham, enjoyed a matinee show by the company Theatre 2000 at the Regent Centre in Christchurch.
The visit was organised after Karen Grant A’Court, Activity Organiser at the home, was invited to perform as a singer and dancer. She also had a small principal part playing the character Tessie.
Fellow Activity Organiser Ann Marie Knight said: “We all enjoyed the trip to watch Karen on stage. It was a wonderful afternoon full of singing, dancing, comedy, colourful costumes and scenery.”
After the performance the visitors took the chance to meet cast members.
Colten Care runs 19 care homes across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. Its services include residential, nursing, respite and dementia care.
