A Bournemouth man has been charged with two counts of robbery in relation to offences in Boscombe at the Londis Best-in convenience store on Palmerston Road on 1 December and the Ladbrokes bookmakers on Seabourne Road on 3 December. Ben Beck is due to appear in Bournemouth Magistrates Court today (8 December).
The first offence occurred at the Londis convenience store on Palmerston Road at 4.10pm on Monday 1 December. A number of National Lottery scratch cards were stolen.
The second robbery took place at around 5.45pm on Wednesday 3 December. A quantity of cash was stolen.
In both offences, a man wearing black clothes and a balaclava entered the properties and threatened staff with a baseball bat.
Due to the similarity and nearby geographical locations of the offences, and the similar descriptions given of the offenders and the clothes they were wearing, detectives formerly linked their investigations on Friday evening.
These offences are not being linked to the robberies in Old Christchurch Road.
