Verwood rang to the sounds of rejoicing recently as pupils from Hillside First School performed their festive nativities to parents and friends. The younger children presented a traditional story celebrating the birth of Jesus with a lively show entitled, ‘It’s a Baby!’ which told the story from the inn-keeper’s perspective. The older children enjoyed acting out a more unusual Christmas story, based on the song ‘The Twelve days of Christmas’, where a mysterious theft of one of the gold rings had left Mr Partridge and all the other characters from the well-known song stuck in a limbo without Christmas. Parents and friends enjoyed both plays and praised the children’s enthusiastic singing and confidence speaking on stage.
