Regular bus user Ryan Boydon picked up a Kindle Fire HD in a Facebook competition held by ‘GetBusSmart’ in association with Yellow Buses.
The ‘GetBusSmart’ campaign encourages people living in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch areas to use the bus on a regular basis.
Ryan was presented with his prize by Sally Spicer and Fiona Harwood-Smith from Yellow Buses who also gave him a Glo Card for a year’s free travel.
Ryan is a student at Bournemouth University and gets the bus to the radio station where he works.
He entered by pressing a few buttons, never imagining he would win.
But his name was drawn from a hat and he was given his prize at Yellow Buses’ depot in Yeomans Way, Bournemouth.
Ryan, who lives in Bournemouth, said: “I found out I’d won by email and was a bit confused at first but then I realised what it said and I was delighted.
“It was really easy to enter, I think I just had to ‘like’ something.”
Richard Barnes, Project Officer for GetBusSmart, added: “The competition was all about showing residents living in the area that taking the bus really is the smarter option.
“Whether you want time to read, catch up with friends, prepare for a meeting or exam, or simply relax on your way to the beach or shops, the bus gives you the chance to make the most of your time whilst on the move.
“We hope that Ryan enjoys his Kindle and year’s bus travel with Yellow Buses.”
