The Blue Lamp Trust has announced that one of its trustees, Mrs Lindsay Fox, has accepted the invitation to become the new Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.
Lindsay was High Sheriff of Hampshire in 1997-98 and was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant during that year.
She has spent much of her time supporting the voluntary sector in the county over the last 40 years; worked for the Citizens’ Advice Bureau for 11 years; has been a magistrate for over 30 years and was awarded the MBE in 2013.
During her year as High Sheriff she was extremely active in getting the Bobby Trust, now part of the Blue Lamp Trust, rolled out across the county. Lindsay has also served on the Winchester Cathedral Council. As a trustee of the Rank Foundation, she headed the youth side for 10 years before becoming chairman of the foundation spending time visiting community projects all over the UK.
Mark Bradford, general manager of the Blue Lamp Trust, said: “The trust is proud to have Lindsay as a trustee. She has a really good working knowledge of the county and an excellent standing in the local community. She is well-respected and will bring a wealth of experience to the role of Vice Lord-Lieutenant.”
