Queen’s Park Golf Course is home to the Bournemouth Open – now in its 65th year. Entries are currently being accepted for competitors in this amateur tournament organised by the BAGC in June. This year, some of the competitions are being held at Meyrick Park Golf Course too.
In its 111th year, Queen’s Park Golf Course is an established, yet challenging woodland golf course just off the Wessex way in Charminster, Bournemouth. Steeped in history, this course used to be host to several European Tour events, challenging renowned golfers such as Bobby Locke, Henry Cotton and Seve Ballesteros. During the year 2015 more golfers than ever were encouraged to test their skills at Queen’s.
The greenkeepers work hard to keep the course open throughout the year – and with excellent drainage, the course managed to remain open when the majority of others had to close due to the wet weather.
The course has undergone major alterations over the years and remains a good golfing challenge – a round played to handicap would be considered a satisfying achievement.
