BCP Council has arranged teams of 12 volunteers to cover shifts for two hours from Saturday through to today, Tuesday 9 June.

Dorset Probation Service has provided supervisory staff to help and support the volunteers who have been provided with equipment and PPE and maintain safe two metre social distancing.

Councillor Vikki Slade, Leader of BCP Council said, “Our beaches have been left in a very sorry state recently following the huge influx of visitors, despite our requests for them to take their litter home and not to use BBQs.

“It’s been fantastic to see people willing to give up their time to keep our beautiful area clean and wonderful to have the support of the provision services to support this work which we hope to continue.”
