Botanical gardens are able to remain open in November, so you can exercise in tranquil surroundings – but you need to book
We have seen some beautiful colours this autumn, so people will be delighted that Furzey Gardens in Minstead is open to visitors at weekends through November. The gardens and tea rooms – for takeaway only – are open from 10am to 4pm every Saturday and Sunday to pre-booked visitors only.
The gardens are well known for their tranquil location, friendly welcome, thatched tea rooms and 40 fairy doors. Its meandering paths winding through beautiful autumn colour will provide an attractive backdrop for people taking their permitted exercise.
Visitors must stick to Government rules on group sizes; you can visit with people you live with or with your support bubble. Individuals can visit with one other adult plus any children under the age of 13.
Visits can be pre-booked in one of three arrival time slots; 10-11.30am, 11.30am-1pm and after 1pm. Visitors can then stay in the garden for as long as they like. Capacity has been reduced for this month, to enable visitors to social distance even more easily and make their visit as relaxing as possible.
Adam Dodd, Furzey Gardens manager, said, “Since we were able to reopen in June we have been blown away by the number of visitors who have told us how important their visits to Furzey have been for their mental and physical health and wellbeing.
“To be able to continue to offer visits to our tranquil woodland garden through this difficult time is a real privilege and we know what it will mean to our visitors.
“Our Covid protocols have been praised by guests since reopening, so visitors this month can enjoy a safe, relaxing and uplifting escape from the worries of this difficult time.”
