Bike ride raises £600 for the Bring Joy Foundation
This money will go towards helping older people across the country to be occupied and entertained during the pandemic.
Local friends, Robert Atkins and Andrew Forrest completed a 50-mile round trip last weekend, raising £600 for the Bring Joy Foundation.
Andrew’s partner, Jayne Perks, the community engagement lead at Home Instead Senior Care East Dorset and Blandford, has witnessed the good that Bring Joy funding does for older people, especially throughout the pandemic.
Starting in Wimborne, the two men cycled around East Dorset, through to Salisbury and back again.
Andrew commented. “We were very proud to raise £600 for the Bring Joy Foundation. Their work is so important, especially throughout this year when they’ve provided vital funding to keep seniors across the country occupied and entertained, reducing the risk of loneliness among the elderly.”
