Man dies after accident in Poole
A pedestrian seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Poole on Monday 28 February has sadly died.
The accident happened on Commercial Road when a black Yamaha motorcycle with a pillion passenger was involved in a collision with the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a local man aged in his 70s, was flown to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Very sadly, he died in hospital on the morning of 29 March 2021. His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
Following the collision, the 26-year-old male motorcycle rider from Bournemouth and his 31-year-old female pillion passenger from Poole were taken to Poole Hospital with serious injuries. Both have since since left hospital.
Sergeant Nikki Burt, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the pedestrian who sadly died at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.
“We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to please contact us.”
