Join a local litter pick from 28 May – 13 June
There are plenty of groups in Dorset who are taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean campaign.
Litter Free Dorset is inviting local people to take part in Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean campaign, which runs from 28 May – 13 June.
If you are interested in joining a group near you, head to the Litter Free Dorset website for details of litter picking groups local to you. Dorset Council Waste Services are also supporting the campaign by providing guidance and equipment for litter-picks.
If you are organising a litter pick, make sure you have your waste disposal organised – whether that’s disposing of the rubbish in a bin at home, or prior to your clean, organising waste collection with Dorset Council Waste Services. To get in touch with the Waste Services team to let them know details of your clean, organise loaning of equipment and waste removal, log onto https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/bins-recycling-and-litter/street-cleaning/community-litter-picks.asp to find out the contact details for your local depot or email wasteteam@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
Sophie Colley from Litter Free Dorset said: “The Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean is a great event to get involved with – you can pick a day and time that suits you, get outside for some fresh air and litter pick your local area – whether it’s a two minute litter pick or a three-hour clean, every piece picked helps. Don’t forget to pledge your support to the #MillionMileMission by heading to the Keep Britain Tidy website.”
Want to get involved with the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign? Head to the Keep Britain Tidy website for more information and to pledge to pick as an individual or group of up to 30 or link up with a local litter picking community group near you.
