The album hit the #1 spot last month, and Inhaler became the first Irish band in 13 years to achieve the feat.

As well as the gig at Bournemouth Old Fire Station, Inhaler will be visiting Southampton Brook on 24 August for an intimate headline show.

The world is a different place to when singer and guitarist Eli Hewson, bassist Robert Keating, guitarist Josh Jenkinson and drummer Ryan McMahon formed the band as teenagers in Dublin seeking to emulate the big-thinking, big-chorused indie-rock bands they worshipped with some uplifting anthems of their own. A string of captivating singles and their fevered live show have earned them a diehard fanbase – on their last tour, they sold over 10,000 tickets and played to sold-out crowds across Europe.

Their tracks have been streamed over 50 million times globally.

About their new album Hewson says: There’s a sense of optimism on this album and the song It Won’t Always Be Like This is the main catalyst for that. We kept coming back to that title.”

It’s a coming-of-age record about losing yourself and finding yourself again, trying to make sense of the world when the world doesn’t make much sense. It charts a path of sonic exploration, from the sweeping urgency of the title track and My Honest Face to the synth-pop of Slide Out The Window to the space-y grooves of A Night On The Floor.
