Witness appeal after mountain bike stolen in Ferndown
A black and blue Carrera Hellcat mountain bike has been stolen from an address in Medway Road, Ferndown.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after a bike was stolen in a burglary in Ferndown.
Sometime between the afternoon of Saturday 6 November and the morning of Sunday 7 November entry was gained to an address in Medway Road via an insecure temporary conservatory door.
The offender or offenders then took keys that had been left on display and used them to gain access to the shed. The bike has smileys on the air caps and a damaged left handlebar.
PC Lynsey Docherty, of East Dorset police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to officers to please get in touch.
“I am issuing an image of the stolen bike in the hope that someone may have seen it being offered for sale locally in unusual circumstances.
“As part of our house-to-house enquiries we have discovered that an insecure shed has been accessed and a vehicle has been broken into in the same area and we would like to reassure all residents that these matters will now be investigated.
“Finally, I would like to remind all residents not to make life easy for thieves and to ensure that all doors, windows and outbuildings are locked securely, while keeping keys away from view.”
