Fire safety festive fun with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service
The education team at Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service has created Christmas activities for children.
Parents who are wondering how to keep children occupied over the festive period have been given a helping hand by the education team at Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service who have created Christmas activities.
Stories, arts and crafts, a Christmas trail for younger children and a fire investigation mission for aspiring fire investigation officers (suggested age 9 – 11 years) are among the activities, which aim to help children understand how to stay safe over the festive period and be in with a chance of winning a VIP trip to a DWFRS fire station.
Education coordinator, Tess Cross, said: “Whilst the festive period is a time of fun and merriment, it’s also a time of year where the risk of fire is far greater. With the Christmas holidays fast approaching, we’d like to help parents, carers and children understand the importance of fire safety within the home, in a fun and engaging way.”
There are a range of activities, suitable for children of all ages, which can be found at www.dwfire.org.uk/christmas-safety-education
Fire safety is vital throughout the year, but the extra distractions of Christmas make it especially important to be vigilant. For more information on Christmas safety, visit www.dwfire.org.uk/christmas-safety
