Cyclist assaulted in Bournemouth
If you were near to the entrance of Winton Recreation Ground on Thursday 23 December at around 10.50pm you may have witnessed this.
Witnesses are being sought following an assault in Fitzharris Avenue near to the entrance of Winton Recreation Ground on Thursday 23 December with officers having been called at around 10.50pm.
It is reported that the victim – a local man aged in his 20s – attempted to cycle past a man and woman who were standing in the middle of the road.
A verbal altercation occurred and the victim was subsequently punched to the side of the head by the man. He sustained bruising and swelling to his face, as well as a dislodged tooth.
The offender is described as white, six feet one inch tall, approximately 25 years old, of large stocky build with short black hair and a black shaven beard.
Police Constable Oliver Duell, of Bournemouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have information about who was responsible for this assault.”
