Help to find work
If you are out of work and struggling to find employment, there is an organisation that may be able to help.
Aimed at people who are struggling with their job hunt, and who may also be feeling isolated, Convoy Community has fully-funded spaces available in its The Road to Work programme.
It can be challenging to find a new job at the best of times, let alone during a pandemic, so the community offers support to help maintain motivation and momentum during the job search.
Job seekers touch base for a few minutes daily to see how they are getting on, and have a longer virtual meeting once a week to share ideas and hear from guest speakers. Topics may be on practical subjects such as using social media profiles or creating better covering letters, and also discuss personal barriers to finding work.
The Convoy Community was founded by Christopher Ross, based on his own job hunting experience. After being made redundant at the start of the pandemic, he found the search for a job isolating and worked to connect with people in a similar situation.
There are 30 places available for people job hunting in Dorset. To find out more, see https://convoycommunity.com/
