Duet for One to be staged in Ferndown and Winton
Local theatre company ImpAct is to stage the Tom Kempinski play in April at theatres in Ferndown and Winton.
Local theatre company ImpAct is set to return to theatres in Dorset this spring with a production of the moving, multi-award winning drama ‘Duet for One’ by Tom Kempinski.
Inspired by a true story, this wonderfully positive and optimistic play centres on a concert-violinist, Stephanie Abrahams, and the therapist who helps her to come to terms with her ill health and its effects.
Originally premiered in 1980 and garnering several award-winning revivals since, as well as a film version with Julie Andrews in 1986, ‘Duet for One’ is a powerful and spirited play that explores the challenges of facing difficult truths and features razor sharp duels of dialogue between the two characters.
Director Patricia Richardson said: “At ImpAct, we are always drawn to plays that both entertain and provide compelling insights into the human spirit and its ability to remain hopeful in the face of adversity. This thought provoking play is a treasure-trove of great drama and dialogue. We can’t wait to get back into theatres and bring this classic and timeless play to audiences, who so deserve to be treated to a wonderful night at the theatre after the last two years.”
‘Duet for One’ can be seen on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 April at the Barrington Theatre, Ferndown – ticket line: 08448 889991 https://barringtoncentre.co.uk/
