Poole Goes Vintage on the quay
The popular Poole Goes Vintage event is back and this year it will be on Poole Quay on 9 and 10 July.
Poole’s getting ready to get its glad rags on with the Poole Goes Vintage event coming to Poole Quay in July.
Managed by Stir Events in partnership with BCP Council with funding from Festival Coast Live, the event will feature traders and live music playing the sounds of the 1940s, 1960s and everything in between. The celebration of all things vintage promises a great weekend for locals and visitors alike.
It will be showcasing a broad range of live music, vintage-themed workshops and classic car displays. Poole Goes Vintage will include performances from fan favourites, Rhythm Slicks, Rockin’ The Joint, Little Dave and The Sun Sessions, Retro Rita and DJ Mr D with Retro Grooves spinning the disks at the vinyl booth.
Vintage party-lovers can attend the Friday night Vintage Party at Poole Quay Hotel, featuring Miss Annie and The Midnight Shift along with Mr D! DJ Dave Norrell with tickets available through Eventbrite.
Mandy Polkey, managing director of Stir Events, commented: “We’re really looking forward to hosting this vintage spectacular on Poole Quay this July, it’s such a wonderful opportunity for locals, visitors, and the business community to come together and celebrate Poole and all things vintage, a great day out for everyone.”
Attendees can enjoy lessons from Jitterbug Jive, the Bournemouth Lindy Hop Club with a Vintage Fashion Show hosted across both days. The family-friendly event will include fairground rides, stalls and face painting for children as well as vintage traders selling vintage clothing, jewellery and gifts. Motor enthusiasts can enjoy the Classic Car Exhibition and Show and Shine Competition with cars managed by South Coast Cruisers.
“Everyone’s encouraged to get involved, have fun, get dancing, and even dress up, there’s even a competition and a prize for the Best Dressed Vintage King and Queen, and we can’t wait to see everyone Lindy Hopping and looking their best,” said Mandy.
Sponsors include Festival Coast Live, Poole Quay Hotel, OAK Photography, Locals Own, Warrior Agency, BCP Council, Pulford Publicity, and Hot Radio.
