Platinum Jubilee trail for Sturminster Marshall
Everyone is welcome to Sturminster Marshall to take part in a prize-winning treasure hunt around the Platinum Jubilee trail.
The Wimborne town crier Chris Brown, together with other local dignitaries, is to open the Sturminster Marshall Platinum Jubilee Trail in a village ceremony on Sunday 5 June at 11 am.
This will be followed by a prize-winning treasure hunt around the trail for families and children with everyone welcome.
The new trail features a variety of buildings and sites of historical interest, which have been identified through the village and are marked by Jubilee Trail markers that feature an unique QR code.
It starts at St Mary’s Church and passes in a circular route through the village to include Trafalgar Green, Walnut Tree Field, Timber Green (Stocks Green), Charborough Green, Churchill Green and Maypole Green (Village Market Place).
You can download a map on https://www.sturminstermarshall.co.uk to show the location of the Jubilee Trail signs and take a walk of discovery through Sturminster Marshall village and learn about its unique history through the centuries.
