Thousands of pounds worth of damage caused to boat in Poole
If you saw suspicious activity aboard a boat near Twin Sails Bridge or have been offered items for sale in unusual circumstances call the police.
Officers investigating a theft and criminal damage to a sailing boat in Poole, reported on Saturday 15 October, are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The Dorset Police Marine Engagement Team is investigating thousands of pounds worth of theft and criminal damage.
It is believed that overnight from Friday 30 September to Saturday 1 October 2022 the boat, which was moored on a pontoon close to the Twin Sails Bridge was boarded. Several high-value items were taken and the boat was damaged so that it took on water.
The stolen items include Harken winches, a waterproof ICOM VHF radio, an Aerogen 300 wind generator, a Whale twin diaphragm bilge pump and a Solara solar panel.
Police Constable Ali Roberts, of the Marine Engagement Team, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the relevant area during that night and may have seen suspicious activity to please come forward as they may have valuable information that could assist our investigation.
“I would also urge anyone who might have seen the described items for sale in unusual circumstances to please contact us.”
