Guided walks at Avon Heath Country Park
Guided walks take place every Tuesday at Avon Heath Country Park, and are led by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to take more exercise, you might consider taking a regular guided walk at Avon Heath Country Park.
Led by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers walks leave from outside the Visitor Centre at Avon Heath Country Park every Tuesday at 2pm and are free.
The health benefits of getting out in daylight hours during the winter months are well documented.
You can choose from a 30 minute or 1 hour guided walk and enjoy a relaxing time being surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
The walking trails are along gravel, hard dirt or sandy tracks so your walking boots won’t get covered in mud and there is a chance to enjoy a hot drink at the friendly on-site café with your fellow walkers afterwards.
You are advised to arrive a little bit before 2pm so that you can check in at reception in the Visitor Centre and meet the team.
Avon Heath Country Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest as it is home to all six of the UK’s native reptile species and rare or endangered plant life. It is cared for by a team of rangers, who are keen to share its beauty with visitors.
Find Avon Heath Country Park at Brocks Pine, St Leonards, Ringwood, BH24 2DH, off the A31 between Ringwood and Ferndown.
For more information about the walks call the Visitor Centre on 01425 478082. It is open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm.
