Hop along to the Museum of East Dorset for all sorts of activities
The Museum of East Dorset is running a morning of creative fun for little explorers with Easter and spring-themed arts, crafts and stories on Tuesday 11 April.
Hop into Easter will be a jam-packed morning of creativity for little explorers at the Museum of East Dorset from 10am-1pm on 11 April. Follow the trail around the museum’s garden to find out where the cheeky chicks are hidden to claim your reward. All-weather activity. Cost £3.50 per child. Entrance via the tearoom.
But that’s not all. There is much more going on at the award-winning museum this April.
A new temporary exhibition, Tinker, Tailor, Cappuccino Maker will be launched on Saturday 1 April. This exhibition showcases historical photographs from the museum’s collection alongside newly commissioned images of current day traders in Wimborne. Entry is free with usual museum admission and will run until October 2023.
April also sees the return of the 50p second hand book sale. Browse a wide selection in the two dedicated book rooms in the Information Centre.
Discover the museum’s beautiful walled garden in the company of lead gardener, Simon. This garden tour will be held on 19 April and includes a hot drink and slice of cake. Tickets are £9 and can be booked on the website.
There are a host of upcoming tours and workshops for spring, including an Introduction to Photography, Printmaking (linocut), Calligraphy and so much more. Further details on these events and to see what else is on offer, visit website museumofeastdorset.co.uk.
As a small local museum, all these events support fundraising, with profits going towards the running of the museum.
The museum and tearoom is open from 10am to 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
