Bournemouth man jailed for stealing charity money in Wimborne
Dean Anthony Pennett is to spend more than two years in jail for stealing money that had been raised for charity.
Dean Anthony Pennett, 54, of Bemister Road was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for burglary following a hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 29 September.
At approximately 11.20am on Tuesday 7 March 2023, Pennett gained entry to a residential flat in the High Street.
When the victim entered his property later that day, he discovered that a quantity of cash was missing from a bedside drawer.
CCTV footage of the incident was captured and Pennett was identified from the footage.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary.
Police Constable Jacob Cartwright, of East Dorset police, said: “The money that was stolen during this incident had been raised for charity.
“A burglary is extremely distressing for a victim, and we are determined to identify offenders and hold them responsible for their actions.”
