A topping out ceremony for a new development of 17 family homes in Christchurch saw Councillor Ray Nottage, Leader of Christchurch Borough Council, don a hard hat and high visibility jacket to lay the first roof tiles.
The recent event marked the final phase of construction at Connect at Hyde Mews, a collection of new, two and three-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses close to Christchurch Railway Station and the centre of town.
The development is the latest project undertaken by Solum Regeneration, a strategic partnership between Kier Property and Network Rail that sets out to regenerate under-used land near railway stations.
Councillor Nottage, said: ”I am delighted to be part of today’s topping out ceremony and very much welcome the construction of these new high-quality new homes in the heart of Christchurch. The quality of the build is exceptional and I’m pleased that considerable use has been made of local trades people, such as brick layers and carpenters, which all helps keep our local economy thriving.
“The provision of new homes in Christchurch is always to be welcomed. It’sheartening to hear that the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which is available here at Connect at Hyde Mews, is helping people who may be first-time buyers, but it’s also interesting that this development is proving attractive to older people in the Borough who may be looking to downsize. Congratulations to Solum Regeneration for bringing this valuable project to fruition.”
Connect at Hyde Mews is accessed via its own secluded driveway and is within easy walking distance of the town’s amenities; with a new pedestrian walkway giving easy access to the nearby mainline railway station. Each property features fully-fitted kitchens with integrated appliances and contemporary stylish bathrooms; French doors lead out onto the garden and every home has allocated parking.
The next milestone will see Solum Regeneration opening their show homes in June. However, with a number of homes have already sold off plan, the company is urging interested buyers to register their interest early. Telephone 01202 483344 or visit: www.solumregeneration.co.uk
