Event will focus on getting Westminster working for the South West
Business leaders in Dorset are stepping up to make the case for investment into the South West and have their say on region’s future.
In the second of a series of regional roadshows, a business event on 16 July will focus on getting Westminster working for the South West.
The Great South West Pan-Regional Partnership is hosting a Regional Roadshow to enable Dorset business leaders to advance their interests on the national stage.
The second of four regional roadshows, the Dorset Roadshow will be followed by subsequent events planned throughout the southwest region later this year. Each roadshow is tailored to address the unique challenges and opportunities within its respective area.
To be held in collaboration with Dorset Chamber, the second event in the series will take place at Bournemouth University on 16 July.
Ahmed Goga, director of the Great South West, commented: “We are excited to announce our second Regional Roadshow in Dorset. Each Roadshow presents a unique opportunity for business leaders to share their challenges, which we intend to bring forward in our discussions with government ministers and MPs. As part of our ongoing work to elevate the region, we can strengthen our collective voice and ensure our region plays a leading role in the UK’s economic future.”
Ian Girling, chief executive of Dorset Chamber and Dorset LEP Board Member, said: “We are delighted to be working on the Great South West on this event. The Great South West seeks to unite and promote the region and we completely support this as a fantastic place for businesses to prosper and thrive within a beautiful environment. We are keen to promote this to the excellent businesses we have here in Dorset.”
The Regional Roadshow will bring together senior business leaders, investors, and local authorities. The event aims to spotlight the region’s business community and advance its interests on the national stage.
Great South West is developing a range of key events and activity through 2024, including the regional roadshows, economic and sector insight reports, Westminster events and a major national conference, in Exeter, in September. A delegation will also be working at the UK’s main investment show, UKREiiF, in Leeds in May, to set out the array of opportunities across the region to national and international investors.
