The Castlepoint Art Group is encouraging students artists to exhibit and sell their work on the gallery wall, located near the lower entrance of Marks & Spencer every Sunday.
The first to take on the Sunday exhibitions are Bournemouth Arts University students Georgina Jones and Claire Brandt who both with their own unique images have been enjoying sales success from passing shoppers.
Georgina draws from her travel experience and interest in history to create a varied range of pop art, with appeal that crosses generations.
Claire focuses on mono and coloured henna-based patterns and tattoo designs which are presented on different materials.
Local wildlife and animal artist Kathy Livick, who founded the Castlepoint Art Group in September last year, says that it’s hoped that others studying in the area will take the opportunity to make Student Sunday a special place to find new creativity.
“Each artist has his or her unique approach to their subject
matter and we are constantly being complimented by shoppers at Castlepoint for bringing affordable art to the people, outside of a formal gallery.”
