Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show promises two rural days out
Camels, as well as livestock parades, agricultural and countryside exhibits and equestrian events will all be at the show on 14 and 15 August.
Not only does this year’s Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show feature an array of rare and unusual sheep and cattle, Joseph’s Amazing Camels will be in the main arena.
The show, taking place on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 August, and organised by the Gillingham & Shaftesbury Agricultural Society, is celebrating 30 years at the Turnpike Showground in Motcombe.
Expect a line-up of stunning attractions including livestock parades, agricultural and countryside exhibits, equestrian events, vintage machinery and cars, steam engines, live bands, a funfair and many other attractions.
The main ring will also be home to pocket-rocket Shetland pony racing, competitive showjumping and the Grand Parade of Livestock.
There will also be a host of countryside activities and sports such as ferret racing, skilled gun dog demonstrations and falconry displays.
The Heavy Horse Village makes a welcome return and the Horticulture Marquee will receive over 1,500 entries including flowers, vegetables and cookery.
The Show welcomes dogs on lead, and mobility scooters are available for hire on the day.
Family tickets are available now at early-bird prices with two-day tickets also available. There will be free parking during the event.
