Dorset Council announces road closure for 19 November
A diversion will be in place for the A348 Ringwood Road on Tuesday 19 November to allow the council to remove a tree stuck under a bridge.
Motorists are being notified that a section of the A348 Ringwood Road will be closed on Tuesday 19 November to allow Dorset Council to remove a tree stuck under a bridge.
A diversion will be in place while the council removes a tree wedged under Longham Bridge, crossing the River Stour. The bridge lies between Ferndown and Bears Cross.
The tree had uprooted further up the river before becoming trapped. If left, it could cause structural damage to the bridge.
The road closure and diversion will be in place from 10am until 2pm to enable council workers to safely and quickly remove the tree.
Drivers heading south will likely be diverted east towards New Road and Parley Cross, or west via Canford Bottom Roundabout
Dorset Council said: “Thank you for your patience as we deal with this tree-mendous task.”
