A 24-year-old woman from New Milton was allegedly imprisoned on an industrial estate in Christchurch this morning (20 June).
At around 5.30am, Dorset Police received a report of concern for the welfare of a woman being held against her will on the estate in Somerford Road.
Officers and armed police attended the location and found a 24-year-old woman at the premises. She was uninjured.
Detective Sergeant Andy Bell, of Dorset Police CID, said: “I understand that the woman attended the address and once inside was allegedly held against her will.
“The victim has been visibly shocked and upset by this incident.
“If anyone has information about the address, I urge them to come forward in confidence.
“I am also appealing for any witnesses to this incident.”
A 54-year-old man from Verwood has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
