Club Chairman Peter Pearce congratulates Duncan Soden on his new role with Andrew Douch looking on
New club captains were announced at the Ellingham & Ringwood Rugby Club’s annual general meeting last Friday. Duncan Soden takes over from Ross Whale as 1st XV captain, inside centre Andrew Douch takes over from Andy Weeks as 2nd XV captain and the veteran Steve Benson takes over from Carl Tester as 3rd XV captain.
After the meeting the club Chairman Peter Pearce commented, “We’re all looking forward to the coming season, particularly as we’ve got so many young players in our 1st XV squad that have graduated from our Mini & Junior Academy.”
Ellingham & Ringwood’s 1st XV compete in London & SE Division 3, their 2nd XV are in Dorset & Wilts Division 2 and their 3rd XV are in Dorset & Wilts Division 4. The club has superb facilities at their lottery funded Raymond Brown Memorial Ground in Parsonage Barn Lane, which includes two pitches (one floodlit) and a clubhouse that has a tremendous atmosphere, particularly on match days.
