Bournemouth Police are appealing for information after a fight broke out along Charminster Road near Castle Lane West at around 2.30pm on 17 May.
Two men were reported to be fighting with golf clubs by a member of the public. When officers approached the scene, the men dispersed.
Police Constable Chrissie Plumley, of Bournemouth police, said: “I need to establish what exactly happened.
“I am appealing for the member of the public who reported the incident to the officers to contact Dorset Police.
“I would also urge any other witnesses and anyone with information about the alleged affray to call police on 101.”
A 19-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, both from Bournemouth, and a 23-year-old man of an unknown address were arrested on suspicion of affray and released on bail pending further enquiries.
