New Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are being sought in Dorset.
PCSOs provide a valuable contribution to neighbourhood policing and are an integral part of over 70 Safer Neighbourhood Teams across the county.
Responsible for high visibility policing, PCSOs can be found out on foot or bicycle engaging with members of the public, hosting Safer Neighbourhood Team meetings and events and providing reassurance.
There are up to 25 vacancies available across the Force.
Chief Constable Debbie Simpson said: “PCSOs are an essential policing resource in Dorset. They perform a huge variety of tasks in a very visible role and are a vital link with our communities.
“PCSOs are also very important as we continue to face changes and challenges in the police service, with the option to widen their remit and policing powers in the future if needed.

Application forms are available to download from the Dorset Police website until Sunday 7 July 2013. Completed applications must be submitted by Wednesday 31 July 2013.
If the number of applications received greatly exceeds the number of posts available, an additional selection process will be used.
