The south coast is soon set to benefit from a vibrant new Hilton hotel in the cosmopolitan seaside town of Bournemouth. As excitement builds, Hilton Bournemouth has announced its senior management team who will be steering the helm of the new hotel. Leading the way is Cedric Horgnies, general manager, Calum Manekshaw, director of operations, and Rachel Smith, director of sales. The four-star hotel promises to provide unique offerings and will showcase spectacular views over Bournemouth, as well as an eforea spa, celebrity restaurant, LEVEL8IGHT Sky Bar and conference and banqueting facilities for up to 330 people in the ballroom.
Horgnies joins the team with more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, which has taken him around the globe from China to Madagascar, while providing pivotal support to more than 11 Hilton hotels. His vibrant portfolio has given him a vast wealth of knowledge to bring to his new role as general manager. In this position he will be responsible for launching the hotel and seeing it firmly become an intrinsic addition to Bournemouth’s hospitality offering.
Manekshaw joins Hilton with a similarly impressive repertoire. Maneksaw has progressed through the hospitality ranks at lightning speed, beginning as a professional mixologist to, his last role as the deputy hotel manager for food and beverage at Hilton Edinburgh.
Smith joins Manekshaw with 14 years of hospitality experience, having most recently been the simultaneous director of sales at four Holiday Inn Hotels on the south coast. While in this role, Smith generated the highest number of revenue opportunities for the group.
The team combined makes for a formidable force and they are all equally passionate about the south coast’s premier seaside destination and its ongoing development.
Horgnies, Manekshaw and Smith all live in Bournemouth or the surrounding area. Horgnies is an enthusiastic water sportsman, and particularly enjoys sailing. A similarly keen sportsman, Manekshaw enjoys tennis and football and previously ran the 100m sprint professionally. Smith is a keen gardener and co-ordinates a charity luncheon club for the elderly in her spare time.
