Two fatal collisions in the area at the weekend
Two separate collisions in the area, both of which resulted in deaths, have left families grieving.
The first happened on Saturday afternoon, 28 January, in Victoria Road, Ferndown near to the junction with Westwood Avenue.
A white Renault Clio being driven by a 23-year-old Ferndown woman was in collision with a white Kawasaki motorcycle ridden by a 67-year-old Wimborne man. The driver of the Clio was uninjured. The motorcyclist was treated by officers and paramedics at the scene and the air ambulance was requested but, sadly, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The road was closed to allow investigators to examine the scene and allow the vehicles to be recovered.
The second, a single vehicle collision, happened in Bournemouth on Sunday at 12.55am when it was reported that a black Renault Clio had collided with a wall at Alum Chine car park on Alumhurst Road. The driver, a 23-year-old Salisbury woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where, sadly, she later died.
The road was closed to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to these accidents or the manner of driving of any of the vehicles involved prior to the incidents.
