Young and old alike braved the cold weather to celebrate Shrove Tuesday at the annual Wimborne pancake race today. Competitions were offered for a whole range of ages, from students of Pamphill and Wimborne First Schools, to residents from Streets Meadow care home. There was something for everyone as hardy competitors battled it out for victory, balancing stamina and hand-eye coordination as they raced round the minster, pans in hand, flipping pancakes like no tomorrow. The mayor and deputy town crier were on hand to help out in the proceedings, as well as congratulate the winners.
