Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park is the subject of a video produced by Access Films for charity Access Dorset. The three minute video shows how Castlepoint has ensured that people with a range of disabilities can enjoy the convenience of the retailers and catering units thanks to long term planning by the management team.
Peter Matthews, General Manager at Castlepoint said that the video, which can be watched from the Castlepoint website, is designed to demonstrate how disabled friendly the shopping park has become.
“We have hundreds of people each week who, are either disabled or infirm, but can reduce the hassle of shopping at Castlepoint. The video also promotes the important role of Shopmobilty on the park and how we strive to keep the malls uncluttered for those with impaired sight. The initiatives raised by the public through the voluntary disability forum can also be appreciated.”
Many of the initiatives are funded by fines imposed on people who park in disabled spaces rather than park in the thousands of spaces available.
