The club charity of the year was announced today (19 July) and comes after club staff voted for their preferred charity to support throughout the upcoming season. The Crumbs Project will receive support from the club across the 2018/19 campaign that will include profile-raising player appearances, signed merchandise and club media support.
The Crumbs Project is a Bournemouth-based charity that was formed in 1997 and currently provides a range of vocational training programmes and supports vulnerable adults into either paid or voluntary work placements. The charity works closely with individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues and stabilized addictions, helping them to achieve a life of independence.
Commenting on the announcements Crumbs’ operations manager, Leanne Miller said, “We are delighted to have been chosen by the club’s staff as their charity of the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for our small charity to gain some much-needed awareness about the important work we do with vulnerable adults within our community. We would like to thank everyone who voted and we are looking forward to working with the team at AFC Bournemouth throughout the upcoming season.”
