The seventh annual Bournemouth Air Festival has been hailed a great success with a record-breaking number of visitors coming to the town to enjoy the event.
Over the four days around 1.2 million people watched as the Red Arrows, Vulcan, Typhoon and many more took to the sky and wowed the crowds.
Teams from across Bournemouth Council departments including seafront, parks, waste and recycling and transport were hard at work during the festival to ensure visitors had the best experience possible.
Already dates for next year’s event have been announced with the festival set to return on August 20-23.
Councillor Lawrence Williams, cabinet member for tourism, culture and leisure, said:
“It has been a fantastic event which gets better and better each year. Credit must go to all the Council staff who have worked tirelessly during the four days, it really has been a team effort.
“It has been great to see so many people enjoying the world’s largest free four-day event that not only entertains local people, but is also great for the visitor economy, supporting jobs and fuelling investment.”
