Along with many other towns and villages across the country, a short service was held on Minster Green in Wimborne at 11am this morning (11 November) to mark Armistice Day.
It was led by the Rector of Wimborne Minster, the Rev’d Canon Vanessa Herrick. She was joined by the Mayor of Wimborne, Cllr Mrs Sue Cook and the Mayor’s Escort, Cllr Robin Cook, as well as the Mayor’s Sarjent Chris Brown and Royal British Legion Officials. Wreaths were laid at the the town memorial.
Our photographs show John Raymont, the President of the Wimborne Branch of the Royal British Legion laying a wreath and the pupils from Wimborne First School watched by the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. The RBL standard was carried by Yvonne Thrumble and Parade Marshal Spencer Hare.
