Diverse Abilities is looking for 20 daring individuals to sign up and take part in an exciting skydive challenge over the Wiltshire countryside on Sunday 12 June. Anyone can take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity and raise money for the charity that supports over 700 children and adults with disabilities in Dorset.
Participants will be skydiving 10,000 feet and will be attached to a professional skydiver from the airfield’s flight team, who have been recognised as one of the best skydiving teams in the country.
Sharon Wells, events fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, said: “Many people say that skydiving is something they would love to try. Having the exhilarating feeling of wind rushing past you as you free fall will hopefully encourage generous sponsorship. If you are a thrill seeker looking for your next adrenaline fix or if you are looking to try something new, please get in touch.”
When taking part, the actual skydive is free, providing a minimum sponsorship of £395 is raised before your jump. A deposit of £50 is payable when you sign up.
If you are unable to make the 12 June, but wish to undertake a skydive, then another date can be arranged – any day, any time – apart from Christmas Day!
Jenny Pearce, from Poole, skydived for Diverse Abilities in 2015 during the charity’s 60th anniversary year and said: “I never thought I’d be brave enough to actually sign up for a skydive, let alone jump out of a plane 10,000 feet. But knowing the many challenges that the people the charity supports face every single day, pushed me to challenge myself. I am so glad I did too… it was such an amazing experience and one I would love to do again. I would recommend it to anyone.”
