Bill Riddle, the Operations Manager who heads security at Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park, has announced a higher level of police patrols and vigilance over Christmas and the New Year period. The local neighbourhood police team will be joining Castlepoint’s own team of 10 security officers to primarily offer a higher level of deterrent against shop lifting and enhance customer safety and wellbeing. Centre Security cover is already provided normally around the clock and every day of the year.
But Bill says that the Home Secretary’s recent warning over the terrorist threat is also part of the extra vigilance that will be provided through the Park’s wide coverage offered by the CCTV cameras network: “Castlepoint is already a very welcoming, safe shopping environment which is one of the reasons the park is so successful, but we can never be complacent and frequently review security with the support of our retailers, Police and Counter Terrorism teams.”
