Boscombe pupils enjoy Ferndown panto
Children from Bethany School enjoyed Jack and the Beanstalk at the Barrington Arts Centre, courtesy of Variety The Children’s Charity.
Two hundred excited youngsters from Bethany School in Boscombe packed into the Barrington Arts Centre in Ferndown to see Jack and the Beanstalk, all thanks to Variety The Children’s Charity. Starring popular local children’s entertainer Krazy Kev as Jack and Tyler Marlow as his hard-up and hard-pressed mother Dame Trott, the show is packed with humour. Sam Dunning is the sinister Fleshcreep, Ashley Rettie makes a delightful Jill and Mia Taylor an enchanting Fairy Moonbeam. David Benson Phillips is the booming voice of the never seen but very evident Giant and, of course, there was the very amusing Daisy the cow.
The panto visit was organised by the Wessex branch of Variety and funded by Bournemouth business group the BC Club. The show, that runs until Christmas eve was written and directed by Kev Stevens aka Krazy Kev, and was thoroughly enjoyed by everybody.
Frances Cornelius, chairman of Variety Wessex said: “What a wonderful pantomime experience this was for all the children. Thank you Kev, all the cast and everyone at the Barrington for putting on an amazing show. Thank you too Shan Seewooruthun and all the members of the BC Club for funding this theatre visit and Laguna Coaches for making the children’s journey too and from school safe and efficient.” Report and photo by Hattie Miles.
