Joanne Tomlin has stood down as local councillor for the Broadstone Ward with immediate effect.
Due to personal issues, Mrs Tomlin feels that she is not going to be able to serve the community effectively in the future. Her decision to resign leaves a casual vacancy on the council which is likely to be filled by a by-election.
Joanne Tomlin was elected as a ward councillor for Broadstone in May 2015.
Cllr Janet Walton, Leader of the Council, Borough of Poole, said: “In her short time as a councillor Joanne represented the residents of her ward well and made a valuable contribution to the council. I fully understand the reasons for her decision to stand down but will be sad to see her go and wish her all the best for the future.”
